Ed.
Hello there!Electronics engineer.
Hardware tinkerer.
Curious by default.
I’m Ed, an electronics and computer engineer based in Nigeria. I like projects that sit between hardware and software, from drawing a schematic to getting a sensor reading onto a screen.

A few explorations in hardware,
software, and the space in between.
Ultra-low-power environmental logger
An hourly logger for temperature, humidity, pressure and light, designed around two AA batteries and flash storage. I selected the components, drew the KiCad schematic and planned the current budget.
Robot audio subsystem
A robot audio subsystem bringing together eight microphones, an RP2040 and a digital amplifier. I designed the KiCad schematic as a reimplementation of a Texas Instruments design.
Smartwatch
A personal smartwatch build, first prototyped on an AVR and now moving to the RP2040. An ongoing project spanning electronics and embedded software.
African language translation
Neural machine translation for low-resource African languages using mBART, built on Masakhane’s AfriMBART infrastructure, alongside dataset building for translation.
Tools in my garage.
I like moving between a schematic,
a line of code, and something that works.

Machine learning
From an idea to a sensor reading on a screen.
An engineer.
A perpetual learner.
My interests take me from low-power embedded hardware to machine learning for African languages. I’m continuing that journey with an MSc at the University of Chester.
